Creating a public transport corridor in the heart of a city centre is always a challenge. Establishing the corridor while maintaining commercial activity, residential life and pedestrian movement — from the start all throughout the construction phases — requires precise planning and meticulous management of the traffic interfaces.
The project included the design of the corridor, including the changes required at Orlov Junction and at the interface with the Red Line of the light rail, as well as the design of all construction stages and the signalling for every stage and for the light rail.
