Transportation planning for the Jerusalem Light Rail Purple Line. The line connects the city from east to west (from Hadassah Ein Kerem in the west to the Talpiot neighbourhood in the east). It is set to pass through densely populated residential areas, and its alignment was determined according to the needs of the city’s development and future demand.
This is a complex planning process involving the assessment of many alternatives (including the design of tunnels and bridges) and coordination with a range of authorities, all with full public participation. The project is at advanced planning stages.
