Design of traffic arrangements for the construction of the underground stations on the Red Line of the light rail, including Arlozorov Station in Tel Aviv, Abba Hillel Station in Bnei Brak and Bialik Station in Ramat Gan. The works were carried out along active urban corridors — Jabotinsky–Arlozorov, Jabotinsky–Abba Hillel and Jabotinsky–Bialik — which are characterized by high traffic volumes, significant public transport volumes and intensive use throughout the day.
The design of the traffic arrangements had to address a particularly complex construction site, arising from the combination of deep underground works in the heart of busy corridors and major urban intersections. As part of the project, temporary traffic arrangements were designed for every stage of the stations’ construction, precisely matched to the transitions between the different construction states. The arrangements enabled controlled routing and diversion of traffic, maintained continuity of movement, allowed the public transport network to keep functioning, and reduced disruption of day-to-day traffic in the urban area throughout the works.
