The widening of the Shlavim Axis in Tel Aviv was carried out as part of a comprehensive program to convert Jerusalem Boulevard into the Red Line corridor of the light rail.
The project included widening the axis in the section between Kibbutz Galuyot Road in the south and Eilat Street in the north, in order to establish an integrated transport layout comprising public transport lanes, cycling paths and private vehicle traffic, and to create an alternative alignment to absorb public transport following the traffic changes on Jerusalem Boulevard.
M.T.N. carried out the traffic and transportation design for the project, including the design of temporary traffic arrangements for the construction stages.
