The Mamilla car park in Jerusalem was designed as a multi-level underground solution that directs vehicle and service traffic below ground, in order to keep Mamilla Avenue as a continuous pedestrian mall. The car park was designed with a capacity of approximately 1,500 parking spaces, with a system of lifts and escalators connecting its five levels to the shopping area, the Mamilla Hotel and the Jaffa Gate plaza. It was built within a complex geological setting while taking into account the preservation of historic buildings above it. The car park serves as a central transport artery for visitors of the Old City and the city centre.
